I will stamp all over 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Former twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really going ahead.
